Tapered fibers for optogenetics

OptogeniX Lambda-B fibers are designed for illuminating large volumes of tissue in a more homogeneous way than standard optical fibers. At the same time, the tapered profile with sub-micron tip diameter minimizes tissue displacement and damage upon insertion into the brain.

Lambda-B fibers enable a new way to conduct optogenetics experiments.
They are typically inserted into the region to be controlled, since light delivery takes place mainly from the taper surface.

Additionally, by inserting into the optical path one of the OptogeniX Launching Systems, it is also possible to sub-sample the target region and/or deliver different wavelength radiations at different locations without probe movements.

Lambda-B fibers are provided as implantable fiber stubs. To switch from your flat-end fiber with length L to the Lambda-B fiber, you need a Lambda-B fiber with Implant Length= L and to select the Emitting Length which best matches the size of your target area.
